Tips for Transitioning to a Plant-based Diet By Greg Lindberg

Looking to lose those last couple of pounds for summer, and to feel better and have enough energy to keep up with your children?

One of the most popular diets in 2017 is a Whole Foods Plant-based Diet. There are many variations, but Greg Lindberg highly recommends the Mediterranean-style diet.

The Whole Foods Plant-based Mediterranean-style diet includes greens, whole grains, some fish, and, of course, olive oil. Red meat and cheese are limited in this diet. There have been numerous studies that have linked the Mediterranean Diet with heart health and longevity.

Here are Greg Lindberg’s tips:

  • Transition slowly. If you were a big meat eater, going straight to veganism might be too much of a shock. Try introducing more plant-based meals slowly into your diet to make things easier on yourself.
  • Don’t be a junk food vegan or vegetarian. Did you know that Oreos and potato chips are vegan too? You won’t do yourself any favors if you replace burgers with pizza and more processed foods. The key is to eat fruits, veggies, beans, seeds, and other whole plant-based foods.
  • Get others to join you. It’s much easier to eat plant-based food if those around you are eating it, too.
